The Spud System which is based on Rack & Pinion Type, makes work stable by fixing the body of the vessel on the ground underwater. "Two Spuds on Bow" functions as fixing the vessel on the ground underwater and ¡°A Spud on Stern" functions as a tilting spud which can tilt itself 15¡Æ forward and backward.
It uses a method of turning a Pinion Gear (a form of a gray saw-toothed wheel) in the middle using a motor and a Reducer (White) attached on the spud case (red).
A barge can be moved forward and backward by adjusting the tilt and angle of the spud.
When a Pinion Gear rotates, it pushes a Rack Gear (Small cylinders on the spud) and makes it move up or down.
When a Hydraulic Motor or a Reducer is not working properly or needs to be maintained, a Hydraulic Jockey can be installed and hydraulic pressure can be applied to fix the spud to prevent it from falling.
The Spuds on Bow can only be moved up and down to the ground, but the rear sing spud is tilted back and forth by 15 degrees, respectively, to advance and post the barge.
The AFT spud has two spud cases, each with an Upper Tilting Axis and a Lowering Tilting Axis. The Upper Tilting Axis is fixed on the hole of a roller.
It is a Upper spud case fixing Roller.. The shaft of the spud case is inserted into the hole in the middle and it becomes an Upper Tilting Axis.
This is a Lower spud case fixing Tilting Bracket. The shaft of the spud case is inserted into the hole in the middle and it becomes a Lower Tilting Axis
When moving the Roller backward by extending the Cylinder as shown in the picture, the Lower Tilting Axis moves and the spud is tilted 15¡Æ backward. At this time, the barge moves backward.
When moving the Roller frontward by extending the cylinder as shown in the picture, the Lower Tilting Axis moves and the spud is tilted 15¡Æ frontward. At this time, the barge moves frontward.
